Our Kenyan Style Chevdo is a traditional savoury snack that is usually consumed with a cup of Chai and is the perfect match with our Classic or Modern Chai blend. A winning combination!
Kenyan Style Chevdo, is one of the most popular snack items amongst Indian families who grew up in East Africa and migrated in the late 60's or early 70's to the UK. It is homemade in the UK and a delicious blend of deep-fried potatoes, peanuts, cashew nuts, pressed rice, curry leaves, seeds and much more to give a crunchy, slightly sweet and spiced snack.
Ingredients:
Potatoes, Sunflower Oil, Corn Oil, Rapeseed Oil, Vegetable Oil, Pressed Rice, Moong Dal, Bengal Gram, Peanuts, Cashew Nuts, Sesame Seeds, Fennel Seeds, Coriander, Coriander Seeds, Mustard, Lemon Juice, Antioxidant Potassium Metabisulfite, Curry Leaves, Cloves, Tumeric Powder, Dry Red Chillies, Green Chillies, Custer Sugar, Salt, Red Chilli Powder, Eno (Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid & Anhydrous Sodium), Black Salt & Antioxidant (INS319). No artifical colours or flavourings.

We aim to dispatch all orders within 2 working days and shipping takes between 1-3 days.
Free delivery within the UK over £25.
Instructions for 2 servings:
1. Bring 2 cups of water to boil and add 2 tablespoons of Chai into the boiling water and brew on high heat for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
2. Add 3/4 cup of whole milk (or milk alternative like oat milk) and bring back to boil on high heat, stirring often for 3 minutes
3. Reduce heat and sweeten to your liking. We recommend 1-2 tsp per serving. Strain and serve.
4. Let the Chai stand for 1-2 minutes before taking that first sip. Enjoy with some Kenya style Chevdo.
Hints & Tips:
Boil the Chai for longer than three minutes during steps 1 and 3 for a stronger spice or tea flavour and slightly creamier texture.
